Thursday, July 14, 2016 - Florence, KY to Akron, OH

From our hotel window, we can see the ballpark. Thanks Florence!

Color-coded porta-potties at the gas station

Kentucky has another museum.

We've encountered an ark.

As seen in the parking lot of Ark Encounters

(Not a) buzzard, circling the lot

Todd was happy for this town. The forecast called for rain and they needed to replenish their tower.

Shh

We thought we'd just pop in.

File under: You can't even make this stuff up.
 - Big Bone Lick State Park is on Beaver Rd.
 - The woman who works there lives in the next town over, Beaverlick.
 - She gets her prescriptions filled in nearby Sugartit.
 - The abbreviation for Kentucky is KY.

We're here!

Todd: "Where do they come up with these speed limits?"

Don't mind if we do!

Thataway!

Cool

But...we can see them beyond this point.

There they are!

Baby bison and big bison

We will.

Metal Mayhem and beer? Feels like home.

Excuse us. We were looking for Hatfield's Spoon.

Big church, mailbox replica church

Oh my

We ate at America's Diner.

Patriotic Pricing. Told ya it was America's Diner.

Turkeyfoot. Too much gristle.

Oh hi, Ohio!

Ohio River

The other Coney Island, complete with Yankees cap.

Where Stephanie saw the Grateful Dead in 19-not telling. Her shoes floated away during a downpour.

What?

King's Island!

White buildings, dark skies

Hi Big Bubba!

Stephanie wondered why there is only one place. Each side of Gemini deserves his/her own space.

Hey! We're in Akron, OH!

We missed this All-Star Game.

We're at Canal Park to see the Akron RubberDucks (AA for Stephanie's Indians) play the Erie SeaWolves (AA for the Tigers).

They seriously renamed S. Main St.

A couple of enormous ducks walked in some paint and got loose.

Words to live by.

Bummed we missed it.

Lineups

The field

Rubberta and Stephanie

Orbit, Stephanie and Webster

This is very important to Stephanie.

We're glad we don't have to do it ourselves.

Next to Canal Park is the Ohio & Erie Canal. This is odd because the visiting team is Erie.

Bubble Bash

Bubble Bash Video...Now with Leprechauns!

Quack

Once upon a time, we considered getting married here.

Section 0.5

Turkey for dinner. Who wins this round?

What?

Oh, OK.

Stephanie is protecting Todd from the leprechaun.

We're there!

Are they studying for finals?

The Children's Hospital looks out over the ballpark. We hope the kids have a nice view at least.

Interesting, um, windup

Canal Park rules.

Sadly, the RubberDucks did not rule tonight.

Congrats to the SeaWolves
